Special thank you to GabbyBox for partnering on this post!
Parents, listen up. When you are sitting in that hospital room looking down at your perfectly swaddled newborn baby and that first person walks in and makes a comment about how fast this itty tiny baby will grow. Do not ignore them. Do not underestimate the power of their words. In fact, they are correct, time flies when it comes to your own children and before you know it, poof! they are a toddler.
One day I looked up and realized my “baby girl” (which I often refer to her as) was really not a “baby.” No, instead, she suddenly didn’t even look like a toddler but a kid. A kid!!
I mean, seriously? Look at this picture.
The jean jacket over the shoulder? Disclaimer: I did not prompt or pose this.
So, here is the thing, when your two-year-old decides to start acting like they are 13, things start to change for Momma too. I am not talking about the fact that you can snap her in and out of a car seat with one hand, or actually sit back and drink a glass of wine while they eat dinner across from you or the fact that you say things like, “Stop bossing me around!” But you start to ditch the items that were once necessary when they were younger such as the diaper bag. Or, at least I did!
No longer do I need to lug everything I use to around. Especially since we are on this, “I may attempt to pee in a public place,” train.
I guess you could say, we have both graduated to a backpack. We are in a backpack phase. And, it is the cutest thing ever! Logan looks so adorable lugging it around and actually said to me, “Hey, Mom. I am going to ride a bus and you will have to stay home.”
This was the exact moment too. Look at that awkward side stare.
The diaper bag to backpack swap has been a breeze. I initiated the exchange in an effort to make her feel a bit more independent and involved in the process of getting ready and heading out the door. Her backpack is used daily when I send her off to my mother’s house while I work. It is perfect for a handful of pull-ups, a wipe pack, two changes of clothes and even her swimsuit for a possible dip in her great-grandmother’s pool.
When we have to head out to an event like a dinner or wedding, this backpack usually contains Logan’s dinner or snacks.
GabbyBox reached out to me and sent me This adorable bessonjoujou Little Kid Backpack. Here is what I love about this sweet bag.
1. You can wear it five different ways! It comes with attachable straps so the bag can be converted into a bookbag, cross body bag, handbag, mommy bag and stroller bag.
2. The fabric is easy to clean and can be wiped with a wet washcloth.
3. The inside is lined for transporting food and drink, so if anything spills – easy clean-up!
4. It is stylish and cute! The compliments Logan and I get are pretty regular.
So, here is the better part of the post – it is giveaway and promotions time!! That is right.
