What is in a name, you ask? Well, first – what does that saying even mean? I mean, I have heard it used before so it just felt fitting to begin with such a statement. I have always wanted to have a Blog of my own. I love reading others and have been adoring from the sidelines for some time now. Kind of like a “bench warmer” waiting for the moment when the coach would scan the bench and end with eyes locked on you… “You’re in kid!”
I will be honest, because that is the best policy… coming up with my Blog’s name, well that took some thought. But then it came to me and boy did it stick. I tried, I mean I really tried to shake her off (I do think of my Blog as a she), tried to go in another direction, but the name, well it was a winner in my mind.
Backwards N High Heels – brace yourself folks… it is about to get super cheesy around here, but hey, I have never been one to turn my nose in the air on the cheesy factors of life. I have to give credit to my Blog’s name to one person, and that one person ladies and gentleman… well, it is none other than Mr. Kenny Chesney, y’all! The song… “The Woman With You” and the lyrics…
I’ve been gopherin, chaufferin, company chairman — Coffee maker, copy repairman
Anymore there ain’t nothin I swear man — That I don’t do
I been jugglin, strugglin, closin big deals — Dancin backwards in high heels
And there you have it people, the song, the line… and now the Blog. Kind of like – “the man, the myth, the legend.” Okay, not really. I loved that song. I was entering college and remember hearing that song over and over that summer loving the melody but wondering what my future held. Flash forward… 10+ years and I can relate to that song. I graduated college, I started in the work world, added in some freelance work, switched jobs and found a wonderful company, I got married, I successfully worked my way up – taking a Director position, continuing a freelance business on the side, added a baby to the mix this past December and have a list longer than you can imagine of bucket list items that way over me chanting “achieve me!” My life is stressful and blissful all in one. Some days I come home and all I want is that “bubble bath,” and many days I would be cool with sitting on the front porch eating a can of beans (okay, I am getting it out in the open now – I love beans!) – if you have no idea what I am talking about at this point… Listen to the song! Kenny – you can thank me later for the added exposure!
